It makes a decent lord for decks that churn out Thopters via cards like Sai, Master Thopterist, and the lack of a once per turn restriction lets you do some wild stuff with mass Treasure production

It helps to keep me focused and not drift toward temptation

The combination of seeing five cards and drawing two is surprisingly potent, especially in formats that have good ramp (Sol Ring, Ancient Tomb) and where the power level between cards varies greatly (singleton formats, Vintage)

They reward careful deck building and smart sequencing
